DCSD Student Device Access Survey

Hello Pleasantdale families!  We have exciting news!  The Federal Communication Commission (FCC) Emergency Connectivity Fund has provided funds for internet services and devices for students who lack sufficient access for remote learning.

But - We need to hear from you first!

Each Pleasantdale family is being asked to complete the DCSD Student Access Survey. Survey responses will be used to determine the connectivity needs for our school district and to purchase devices.  A link to the survey is below.

Let’s get new devices for our children!

Out of an abundance of caution and due to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases, we will continue the visitor protocol that was in place for the 2020-2021 school year.

Visitors and volunteers will not be permitted in buildings until further notice.  We will continue to monitor conditions and data provided by the Department of Public Health(DPH), the DeKalb County Board of Health (DBOH) and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).  It is our sincere hope that conditions will improve, and we will be able to reopen our doors and benefit from the value that our committed volunteers add to our schools and centers.

We appreciate each of our volunteers and community partners.  In the interim, we will look for and we invite you to help us identify opportunities for volunteers to support our school community virtually.

Amended PreK - Grade 1 Visitor Protocol - First Day of School

The DCSD protocols for visitors and volunteers has been amended for the first day of school to allow parents to escort their PreK, Kindergarten, and/or Grade 1 students to the classroom to wish them well on their first day.  We look forward to seeing you with your young children tomorrow.  Please remember that all mitigation strategies will be followed and are expected of visitors.  Masks are required.  Hand sanitizer will be available, and we ask that you practice social distancing to the greatest extent possible.  Thank you for your continued support, and we are excited to begin a great school year!
