Out of an abundance of caution and due to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases, we will continue the visitor protocol that was in place for the 2020-2021 school year.

Visitors and volunteers will not be permitted in buildings until further notice.  We will continue to monitor conditions and data provided by the Department of Public Health(DPH), the DeKalb County Board of Health (DBOH) and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).  It is our sincere hope that conditions will improve, and we will be able to reopen our doors and benefit from the value that our committed volunteers add to our schools and centers.

We appreciate each of our volunteers and community partners.  In the interim, we will look for and we invite you to help us identify opportunities for volunteers to support our school community virtually.

Amended PreK - Grade 1 Visitor Protocol - First Day of School

The DCSD protocols for visitors and volunteers has been amended for the first day of school to allow parents to escort their PreK, Kindergarten, and/or Grade 1 students to the classroom to wish them well on their first day.  We look forward to seeing you with your young children tomorrow.  Please remember that all mitigation strategies will be followed and are expected of visitors.  Masks are required.  Hand sanitizer will be available, and we ask that you practice social distancing to the greatest extent possible.  Thank you for your continued support, and we are excited to begin a great school year!

Intent to Return Survey

Our school uses the Parent Intent to Return form completion data to gather information about families wishing to return in a hybrid model or remain in a distance/remote setting.

Hybrid Learning (Combination of Face-to-Face and Distance/Remote Learning):

·       The hybrid learning model is designed for families who feel comfortable with returning their children to a face-to-face, in-school environment blended with distance/remote learning.

Distance/Remote Learning Model:

·       The distance/remote learning model is designed for families who do not feel comfortable with their children returning to school in a face-to-face format at this time. The students will continue learning from home in a virtual format provided by the school.

We need all parents to submit the survey form for every child attending our school, so we can prepare for all learners. If we do not receive a survey response for your child, we will assume that your child is returning to learn in a hybrid setting whenever the District transitions to the next phase.

The survey form will close on November 30, 2020, so please complete it today! If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know.

Thank you and have a happy Thanksgiving!
